Christine Livingston
I‘ve been coaching in one way shape or form now for over a decade. Before that I was a Managing Consultant with Gemini Consulting, which I joined because it saw people as being the catalyst of business change, and left because work there was so all-consuming that I had no life beyond it. Before that again, I was an HR Director for American Express.
Although there was much I loved about both these roles and organisations, there was much I struggled with, in terms of the politics, lifestyle and demands they made on my interests, values and beliefs. Although I ended up working that stuff through with a psychologist, there were times when I wished there had been someone to talk to, someone who really understood my kind of experience because they’d been there themselves. I suppose that’s one of the things that inspired me to coach.
“it’s about listening to your heart”
Now, I help people like you find a way to make work something you positively enjoy; something that brings meaning and fulfillment to your life. I’m not against big business, or corporations. In fact, I am fascinated by the world of commerce and support many people in finding satisfaction by working for large organisations. But I am for you, as an individual, discovering how to live the life that allows you to realise your full potential, wherever and however that may be. Mostly, it’s about listening to your heart and finding a way to follow what it’s telling you, because it knows the answer!
More about me
Having lived in London for twelve years, I recently moved to the English countryside, and now live in a village near the Chiltern Hills. I’m originally from Glasgow, which is where I grew up, and despite having been in exile for a couple of decades, I’m still proud of my Scottish heritage. Indeed, travel being one of my passions, I go to Scotland as often as I can. Skye and Edinburgh are currently two of my favourite places in the world, the third being the Maldives – all pretty different, I know!
As well as my passion for coaching, I love reading and creative writing, films and cinema. Oh, and eating good food. Just as well I enjoy walking and gym too…;)
