“What’s so different about A Different Kind of Work?”
Maybe you’ve come to the site because your current experience of work is at best less than it could be; at worst turning your whole life upside down.
Maybe you’re expecting tips and techniques on how to do a better job of sucking up to the system or fitting in.
Maybe you’re expecting models and processes like you get on your company training courses.
Well, I run a different show.
Sure, I understand company politics and the traditional rules of how to climb the career ladder.
But I feel no requirement to prop up a century old work system that’s creaking at the seams.
My mission is about helping you find your own way, whatever that happens to uniquely look like for you.
See, I reckon that our society has trained us to think of work as a heavy, soul-sucking chore. And in the process of fitting in, we’ve given our very being away to the corporation or to some crazy business pursuit we thought we should follow.
But, the crazier our business world becomes and the more we’re required to adapt to its insanity, the more likely something inside us is to say “hold on”.
My gift is to support the part of you that’s shouting out to be listened to; the part of you that knows its way out of the situation you currently find yourself in. I want to show you that the self-development opportunity around work is not just about skill building. It can actually be a major, life-giving, soulful thing.
It’s about seeing work as a vehicle for the deep, transformational, shape shifting that allows for massive change.
So, who am I really? In truth, I’m a maverick. Yes, I’ve been an HR Director with a Fortune 500 corporate, I’ve done Consulting with a world leading change firm, I’m a Coach and a Psychotherapist – and now I’ve added writing to my portfolio.
It has taken me a long time to figure that none of these boxes accurately fits me, and to allow my own personality and voice to find its way uniquely into my work.
Have a look round the site and see how it jives for you. Check out some of the foundation posts below. If you like what I’m about, drop me an email, or connect with me on Twitter or Facebook. See if you’re one of my people. If we fit that’s cool and if we don’t that’s cool too.
