I don't know how it is in the US, but here in the UK apprenticeships no longer command the respect they once did and are limited to particular trades. I think there's a real opportunity revitalise the whole idea of developing mastery - even if for now it's only something we encourage people to do informally. It’s a good point, Heather. Less distractions and there was no worry about not seeing the board and hearing the instructor. It's interesting that you brought up apprenticeships. I feel that more professions should have an apprenticeship program today.
